Sage Open Access Agreements

Find the right open-access publishing route for you. Publish Open Access for free in 900 hybrid magazines and with a 20% discount in full open-access newspapers. If the waiver or rebate has not been applied, please email APCqueries@sagepub.com and the SAGE team will correct the amount. Your institution may also have an Open Access Prepaid Account (OAPA) at SAGE to cover APIs, or you are entitled to a discount because of your institutional affiliation. Newly transferred magazines are automatically included in the agreement, provided they are fully accessible and owned by SAGE (not corporations). In accordance with structural justice, we aspire to a sustainable open research, accessible to all. Your organization may have specific instructions on VonCCs. Therefore, if you plan to publish an open-access article in OA SAGE Gold newspapers, please contact your organization`s library or information service. The agreement applies to SAGE-specific open access titles.

The agreement excludes the SAGE Open Access Journals brand owned by companies in which companies have not given permission to offer discounts on LDCs. The agreement excludes the Journal of Medical International Research. The agreement does not contain a CPA for the publication of articles in hybrid magazines. SAGE`s open access publishing program has grown rapidly over the past five years, and as the market accelerates to a more open future, we want to centralize and automate our open access processes, with a system flexible enough to fully meet the multiple requirements of all parties involved. The design and launch of this portal allows SAGE: Gold Open Access Magazines: Correspondent authors who publish an article in a Gold Open Access magazine are also entitled to a 20% discount on the cost of processing articles (APC) applicable to this journal. Click here for the list of titles of the participating Gold magazine. This discount is automatically applied to the SAGE open access portal.

If an author is eligible, the discounts cannot be combined, but the highest discount available to the author applies to the APC due. Please note that all authors must take the steps to sign the SAGE Journal Contributor`s acceptance publication agreement as usual. SAGE still needs this agreement for your item to be produced at SAGE. Through the SAGE Open Access portal, you will automatically receive an open access agreement for contributors, which will replace the previously signed agreement.
